In addition, you may be able to opt for an APX battery system in the future, for which a dedicated BMS will become available and the inverter’s software will need to be updated.

Essential Accessories for an Optimally Functioning Inverter

For optimal battery operation, a Growatt Smart Meter (1-phase or 3-phase) is required. This smart meter is installed at the beginning of your meter box and measures all incoming and outgoing energy in your home. By connecting the smart meter to the Growatt MIN 5000TL-XH inverter via a data cable, the inverter knows exactly when to charge or discharge the battery. In addition, the smart meter offers the ability to limit the export of energy to the grid, which is useful for higher-power inverters.

Back-up Function for Reliable Emergency Power Supply

If you want to take advantage of the backup function, you can add the Growatt backup box for MIN XH inverters. This EPS (Emergency Power Supply) function provides a reliable emergency power supply during power outages, although the switching time is slightly longer than with the Growatt SPH5000. Note that it is not recommended to connect appliances with electric motors, such as refrigerators or washing machines, to the emergency power supply due to the transformerless technology.

Flexible Energy Mode Settings

• Load First: First, the generated power is used for household appliances, then the battery is charged, and the surplus is fed back to the grid.
• Battery First: The battery is charged first, then household appliances are powered, and the remaining surplus is fed into the grid.
• Grid First: All generated energy is supplied directly to the grid.

Easy monitoring and long warranty

Growatt offers a user-friendly monitoring platform that allows you to easily track the performance of your solar panels. With a Wifi-X, LAN-X or Shinelink-X dongle, you can connect the inverter to the internet and monitor its performance remotely via your computer, tablet or smartphone.
