The Growatt Smart meter 1-phase is for measuring and limiting your consumption and the production of your solar panels.
You connect the Growatt Smart meter 1-phase directly to the RS485 port of the inverter.
Included is a 5-metre RS485 cable for this purpose. You can extend this cable with a UTP cable.
If you want to make a storage system, you need a Growatt Smart meter 1-phase. This can fit Growatt 1-phase inverters up to 50kW.

For Growatt MIC inverters, use the plug below for communication with the meter:

If you want to make a storage system then you need a Growatt Smart meter 1-phase. This can go on Growatt 1-phase inverters up to 50kW.
If you have the Chint version, there is a connection diagram on the side of the Growatt Smart meter:
So the RS485 cable is connected with the A pin to port 24, and the B pin to port 25.
Electrically, the mains-side phase is connected to port 1, the mains-side neutral to port 2, and the meter-side phase to port 3.
